Painting life

Painting Life is a project that was born in 2018, in which I was moving to some of the most vulnerable neighborhoods of the city of Cali in Colombia. Through art, I wanted to transform lives.

I sort of wanted to help these children and young people redeem themselves or help them save themselves from the state of constant vulnerability in which they live. Their reality is violence, family problems and substance abuse.

Added to this is the lack of education in which many of them find themselves. These children and youth are a growing future, and I would like to contribute to their growth with my “know-how” as an artist, athlete and human being.

The project started every Saturday where I went from house to house to collect the children to make workshops in which we painted, drew but also used other artistic expressions.

To this project have joined el semillero de paz en llano verde Cali and the sports club Dinamo de Ciudad Cordoba de Cali, with which we continue to carry out processes, using sport and the arts in general.

Today, from Switzerland, I am looking for ways to continue providing tools for the transformation of a society, especially with these children and young people.

For this, I take a percentage of the sales of my work as an artist to contribute to their future. These are paintings and drawings that you can see on this web page or if you prefer, we can schedule an appointment to visit my workshop.

It should be noted that this project was funded by my own resources, but if you who read want to be part of these wonderful activities, in the end you will find a bank account where you can make any donation with the comment Painting Life.

“Art transforms lives”

Confucius wrote: “Give a man a fish and he will eat one day, teach him how to fish and he will eat forever.”

In 2019, I directed an exhibition at the Cali Colombia Municipal Theatre where the works were made by children from the workshops we did together.
